Logitech X-540 5.1 Speaker System

Looking for a 5.1 speaker system that won’t break your budget? Look no further than the Logitech X-540 5.1 speaker system. The X-540 speakers come in a sleek and modern package and can be setup in virtually minutes. I’ve been using the X-540 speaker system for a few weeks now and I love it. The system is great and fills your room with bass filled sound thanks to the included 25W subwoofer, which worth noting is quite large. One thing I didn’t like about the X-540 was the volume and bass controller is wired, and cannot be placed somewhere else without the subwoofer. Come on Logitech, where’s the wireless? The Logitech X-540 speaker set comes with a special feature called “matrix” that allows you to pull 5.1 surround sound out of a 2.1 sound card or source. Although it made some things sound awful, it actually worked quite well. Read on after the jump for the verdict.
“The X-540 speakers use FDD2â„¢ (Frequency Directed Dual Driver) technology to produce a uniform soundfield anywhere in the room. Immerse yourself in the game using the selectable ‘matrix mode,’ which automatically creates 5.1 surround sound from common 2-channel stereo sources. The compact satellites are wall-mountable, and and a special clip lets you place the centre channel speaker on top of most flat-panel monitors to reduce desktop clutter. Use the wired control centre to control volume and bass levels or connect headphones to enjoy your games and music privately.”
The Logitech X-540 5.1 speaker system is available today for prices ranging from $79.99 to $99.99 and up.
