In my never-ending quest to stay warm during the colder months, I’ve gone through many different blankets. However, I believe I’ve finally found the blanket that caters to both my nerdiness and my need for warmth. Read on to see how this simple product can help many people in the winter.

When I first found the slanket, I immediately fell in love with the concept behind it. Being able to lay watching Monday Night Football with my computer on my lap, with my upper body remaining warm sounded incredible. I immediately tried to commission my mom into attempting to make one, but even she was foiled by the concept. The product itself shows that a large amount of trial and error was used in its creation.

I must admit, the packaging of the product isn’t of the highest quality, but one of the more interesting things included is a note from the creator wishing you warmth for the holiday season. This shows that the product is made with the customer in mind.

Another concern I had when I inquired about the product was the size. I’m not a very short person, sizing up at 6′2″. Most other blankets are either too short, or just lack quality. This was not the case when I opened it, as it measures in 100×60 inches. That’s over 8 feet of pure high quality fleece, that so far, has kept me quite warm in the 8 degree weather I’ve been facing lately.

The slanket seems like one of the most genius Christmas presents for any geek on your gift list. Even those who just enjoy movies are sure to appreciate this also, allowing for easy access to the remote and popcorn. It almost surprises me this product hasn’t made it’s way to ThinkGeek yet.

In conclusion, make sure to take a look at the slanket as a christmas present for those in your life (maybe even yourself!) who want to stay warm while enjoying relaxing during the colder season. The size, quality of the fleece, and overall construction all exceeded my expectations.

I give the slanket a 5 out of 5 for making itself an indispensable winter tool for me.

The Slanket is available today at the company’s website for $48.95. Not a stocking stuffer, but a great gift.
