Dell launches first rugged notebook
Similar to the days of hefty Panasonic ToughBooks, Dell has introduced their new semi-rugged notebook for customers who work in tough environments. The Latitude ATG D620 is now available in the U.S and will be available in other markets within the next couple of weeks.
It features a shock-mounted hard drive, spill-resistant keyboard, port covers, and high durability paint. It is designed to withstand challenging conditions such as in military environments, construction sites, and first responders such as police. For the specs, it features a 14.1-inch display with an ambient light sensor, glass overlay, and anti-reflective coating. The LCD is 1 1/2 times brighter than most corporate-geared notebooks and customers working in these scenarios say that seeing the screen in the bright sun is a critical factor in their notebook computing experience.
The Latitude ATG from Dell is available at Dell.com for $2499 and comes with three-year next business day on-site service standard with accidental damage service optional.
