Ergotron LX Desk Mount

Ergonomics have always been an important part in your life, whether you work at home or in an office. Today, we have a product review that will make your life a whole lot easier for you. It’s the Ergotron LX Desk Mount monitor arm.

The LX Desk Mount arm allows you to attach an LCD display to it via the included mounting bracket and screws. The arm allows you to swivel, tilt, and pivot your display, as well as lift it higher or lower, according to your personal needs. The LX Desk Mount is also very easy to install on your desk or table top, the instructions were very straightforward and directs you based on how you want to mount it. You can mount the monitor arm on your desk either with a clamp, or a grommet-mount, both of which have the supplies included to make installation seamless. The package includes the mounting bracket supplies, the main arm stand, the main arm, and an extension for extending it out further over your work area.

The LX Desk Mount can also be used to free up desk space, otherwise used by the monitor stand included with most LCD displays. We found that the monitor arm worked great in our testing area using a Dell 20″ widescreen monitor (2007WFP). No matter which way we swiveled, tilted, and pivoted the monitor, the arm held up great using the included grommet mount. One problem we had was that the built in cable management system kept popping out of the underside of the main arm piece. It turns out that the plastic tabs holding it in were bent and beginning to snap off. Not a major problem, and can be fixed easily with a few zip ties.

Overall, the LX Desk Mount is an excellent product and can easily help you increase productivity and free up desk space. The Occupational Safety & Health Administration mentions that the top of your monitor should be at or below eye level, and this can easily make that happen.
