Bluetooth headsets have evolved in many ways over the years, becoming smaller, sleeker, and packing in better audio quality, features, and comfort. Today, we look at a Bluetooth headset that is not only small and sleek, but has great audio quality and comfort. It's the Plantronics Discovery 665 Bluetooth headset.


The Discovery 665 is the top-of-the-line Bluetooth headset offered by Plantronics and manages to include things like AudioIQ technology, which Plantronics invented to make your call sound the best on both ends. The Discovery 665 can be charged over USB and even your 12-volt automotive socket, great for on the go. One downside is that there is no AC adapter, so if you're away from your computer or car, you're out of luck. Oddly enough, its predecessor, the 655 includes an AC adapter and an AAA-battery charging device.

Paring the Discovery 665 headset was seamless, just enter pairing mode, enter the PIN number on your cell phone, and your good to go. Battery life on the Discovery 665 was excellent and the charging dock even lit up when we got an incoming call. Audio quality was great and with the AudioIQ technology turned on, calls sounded even better. On the flipside, we didn't like that the volume buttons were fairly hard to find and press without taking the headset off the ear.

Overall, the Discovery 665 headset from Plantronics is great for people who travel frequently, since the headset does not include a wall charger. If you prefer an AC adapter over a USB charger, take a look at the Discovery 655 which retails for the same price though lacks the AudioIQ technology.
