Review: Ergotron LX Notebook Arm

Ergotron LX Notebook Arm

We had a good experience with Ergotron using their LX Desk Mount Monitor Arm just a few months ago, so we thought we’d take a look at the notebook version of the arm.

The setup is almost the same, everything except attaching the notebook or desktop mount. The installation takes some time but once it’s done you’ll be one step closer towards an ergonomic workspace.

The LX Desk Mount Notebook Arm also frees up desk space by floating your notebook above your desk, leaving room for a keyboard and mouse in addition to positioning your notebook’s screen at eye level. You also might want to have extra-long cables when connecting things to your notebook so the notebook arm isn’t pulling on them too much. We didn’t have the same problem with the cable management system as we did with the monitor version - which could’ve been a manufacturing defect.

There is also a dual-mount version of the arm that allows you to mount both a monitor and notebook side-by-side for maximum screen real estate.

For more detail on the Ergotron LX series, check out our original review of the monitor version. The LX Desk Mount Notebook Arm is available at TigerDirect for $149.99, maybe not priced for the average consumer but it will help you work better ergonomically and enhance productivity.
