Sprint Katana II by Sanyo

The Sprint Katana II is a flip-phone that looks surprisingly similar in form to the popular Motorola RAZR. Measuring at 3.7″ by 1.9″ by 0.6″, the phone is extremely small and fits easily into your pocket. The Katana II is fully equipped with a built-in VGA camera, speakerphone, GPS, and voice dialing. The external display is similar to the RAZR’s, measuring at 1-inch diagonally while the internal display seemed a bit small compared to newer flip phones on the market.

What we liked was the cheap price, at only $49.99 – this is a great starter phone for Sprint users. Call quality was loud and clear, the speakerphone was also surprisingly loud as well compared to the RAZR’s speakerphone. On the flip side, the camera quality was average, pictures seemed washed out and blurry.  The included games were decent, but it felt like we needed a magnifying glass just to read the text!

Pros

  • Clear call quality.
  • Loud speakerphone.
  • Cheap.

Cons

  • Average camera quality.
  • External display is small.

Final Verdict
3.5 out of 5 stars.
