Vizio VW32L 32″ LCD TV Review

Vizio is one of the top flat panel television brands in North America and we recently had the chance to take a look at one of their budget-priced LCD TVs, the VW32L.The Vizio VW32L is a budget-priced LCD TV with a 1366 x 768 native resolution, and a 700:1 contrast ratio. It has a slew of inputs from HDMI to composite video, most of which are standard on today’s LCD TV’s. The Vizio VW32L supports up to a 1080i resolution and has an 8ms response time along with a 178 degree viewing angle.

We tested the Vizio VW32L with a Sony PlayStation 3 gaming console and an Apple MacBook loaded up with high-definition content. The picture quality and color is simply amazing (and surprised me at first) for an LCD in this price range, everything shows up crystal clear and bright.

The built-in speakers also do a good job for sound, and sadly – that’s what you’ll have to stick with. There is no audio out for connecting the TV up to bigger speakers. If you route your video and audio through a home theater system though, and connect the receiver to the TV via HDMI, you should have no problem. There is also a built-in ATSC tuner for receiving HD signals over-the-air which worked great using a Terk HDTVi antenna, but of course you’re mileage may vary depending on where you live.

Besides that one caveat, there isn’t much to say about this LCD TV. It works great and can upgrade you to the realm of high definition for only $649.99. The Vizio VW32L is available today from Wal-Mart and K-Mart stores.
