Lexmark X9575 Professional All-in-One Inkjet Review

If you’re looking for a small business all-in-one inkjet printer that is chock full of features, look no further than the Lexmark X9575 Professional wireless 4-in-1 printer. Is it up to speed for high volume business printing? Find out after the jump.
The X9575 Professional can print up to 33 pages per minute (ppm) in black and up to 28 pages per minute in color. The printer also has both wireless 802.11g networking as well as traditional Ethernet connectivity. You can load up to 50-pages in the automatic document feeder for quick copying and faxing in the office. You can also save paper with the automatic duplexer. On the front, you’ll find a control panel as well as a 2.4-inch LCD screen for previewing photos and copying documents.
Despite being a business-oriented printer, the X9575 also has photo printing capabilities directly from memory cards, PictBridge compatible digital cameras or flash drives. We setup the X9575 using the built-in wireless networking capability, and after nearly an hour of configuration tweaks, we finally got it setup. You may or may not have the same issues we had, depending on your connectivity options. To save on paper, Lexmark doesn’t include a printed manual, and requires you to use a PC or Mac to setup the printer.
We tested the photo printing capabilities first, taking over 4 minutes to print an 8×10 photo. We were highly disappointed with the photo quality, with too much contrast that made them washed out. When printing a 4×6 photo, the printer still wasn’t fast, coming in at just over 2 minutes to print.
Text quality wasn’t the best, with small font sizes looking the worst and it isn’t the best quality for most business documents (the group that this printer is oriented at).
After all the printer’s downfalls, the Lexmark X9575 Professional isn’t recommended for a small office that prints on an hourly basis. If you don’t print that much, the X9575 might be a viable option, but certainly not worth the $249.99 it costs.
Pros
- Both wireless and wired networking connectivity.
