Most consumers are lured into buying cables from Monster Cable at the local Best Buy because they are “superior” to cheaper cables that can be purchased elsewhere. You don’t have to pay an arm and a leg to get quality cables, and there are many online stores available which sell HDMI, component, and other cables on the cheap. I highly recommend purchasing cables from Monoprice.com, a site which I discovered just over two years ago. A quick Google search reveals that a 6 ft Monster Cable brand HDMI cable costs around $39.95 while the same length cable costs only $4.74. That’s a savings of $35.21, or 1/8th the price! This isn’t some paid advertisement or endorsement, but an honest recommendation from a customer point of view.
You can also find similarly priced cables at Blue Jeans Cable, or even Amazon.com.
