Polk Audio Intros New Wireless Surround F/X Speaker

Have you ever wanted to add surround sound to your home theater system, but didn't want to go through the hassle of running speaker wire throughout the room? Polk Audio is aiming to solve that problem with the new Wireless Surround F/X wireless single-footprint speaker system. Inside are four 2.5-inch full range drivers plus a 5.25-inch woofer with a multichannel DSP amplifier for the best sound. You connect it to your A/V receiver through a small transceiver included with the system. Polk says the Wireless Surround F/X reproduces 5.1 and 7.1 program material and utilizes their Digital Logic technology to solve the problem of wireless operation, making it easy to setup in seconds.

Polk Breaks The Surround Barrier With Innovative Wireless Surround F/X®

The new Wireless Surround F/X re- defines what is possible in home theater; surround sound has finally become plug-and- play effortless.

The innovative Wireless Surround F/X is a single-footprint speaker system consisting of four 2.5” full range drivers and a 5.25” woofer, powered by a compact multichannel channel DSP amplifier. A small transceiver
included with the system connects the A/V receiver’s surround channels to the SurroundBar wirelessly. Thanks to Polk’s recently developed Controlled Dispersion Array (CDA) technology, the Wireless Surround F/X creates a convincing discrete left, right, rear and back surround stage that emanates from behind the listener. The system reproduces 5.1 and 7.1 surround program material, and features a 3-position DSP control that optimizes the image height for floor, table and shelf applications.
Polk’s new Wireless Surround F/X will be available in the second quarter of 2010 for a suggested retail price of $399.95.
