Netgear today is announcing their new line of mobile broadband routers geared toward small businesses and road warriors. These are perfect companions to the ever-popular USB EVDO and HSDPA mobile broadband devices. The new MBRN3000 3G/4G Mobile Broadband Wireless-N router is a simple mobile broadband router, allowing consumers to set up a fixed or mobile Wi-Fi hotspot using their EVDO, HSDPA or WiMAX modems connected to the router’s USB port. The DGN2200M bundles both the mobile broadband modem with a DSL connection through a built-in ADSL2+ modem for automatic failover in the event of a DSL outage. When the router detects an outage, it temporarily routes traffic to the mobile broadband network through the USB port. If you don’t have a USB mobile broadband modem, the USB port can also be used to share an external hard drive using the Netgear ReadyShare technology.
The new Netgear MBRN3000 will be available in March for $149 and the DGN2200M will be available in April for $179.
