Outdoor fans, rejoice, Sony announced their Cyber-shot DSC-TX5 digital camera at PMA 2010 (the big camera show down in Anaheim, CA) and it can handle a variety of rough conditions. It can be used in depths up to ten feet for up to an hour and is the thinnest waterproof still camera available. The TX5 is also freeze-proof down to 14 degrees Fahrenheit, shock-proof from a 5-foot drop and dust proof. The camera is a 10.2 megapixel model with an Exmor R CMOS sensor and 4x optical zoom (equal to 25mm). Additionally, the camera has the capability to record 720p HD video and a unique Intelligent Sweep Panorama function which allows you to take a panorama of a mountain or landscape in one “press-and-sweep motion”.
Sony expects the Cyber-shot DSC-TX5 to be available in April for $350 in silver, black, pink, green, and red.
