First Look: Acer Unveils TimelineX Thin and Light Notebooks

Along with the new line of Aspire notebooks and Aspire One netbooks, Acer is also taking the wraps off its new line of thin and light notebooks called the TimelineX. The line includes the 11.6-inch 1830T, 13.3-inch 3820T, 14-inch 4820T and the 15.6-inch 5820T. All models are in black brushed aluminum, and less than one inch thin. All four models feature Intel Core i3 or i5 processors, LED backlit displays, Windows 7 Home Premium (no crippling here), 802.11b/g/n wireless networking, Gigabit Ethernet, and a built-in 1.3 megapixel HD webcam as well as a Multi-Gesture trackpad like on the new Aspire One netbooks.

Aspire 5820T & 4820T: 15.6-inch or 14-inch display, Core i3 or i5 processors, a 320GB of 500GB hard drive, 4GB of memory and media controls for one-touch control. The 5820T model also has enough room for a dedicated numeric keypad and integrated optical drives. Both models start at $749.99.

Aspire 4820TG: 14-inch display, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650, Core i3 or i5 processors, 4GB of memory and a 320GB or 500GB hard drive. One model with the i3 processor is priced at $799.99 and the model with the i5 processor is priced at $899.99.

Aspire 3820T: 13.3-inch display, Core i3 or i5 processors, a 320GB of 500GB hard drive and 4GB of memory. These models start at $729.99.

Aspire 1830T: 11.6-inch display, Core i5 ULV processor, 4GB of memory and a 500GB hard drive. This model retails for $699.99. A model with a smaller 320GB hard drive, slower Core i3 ULV processor, and 3GB of memory for $599.99 is also available.
